Webb Simpson shot a bogey-free 64 to break away from the pack and win the 2020 RBC Heritage on Sunday at Harbour Town GL.
Webb was cold-blooded with the flat stick down the stretch, coming home in five-under 30. He birdied three of his last four holes to pick up his seventh PGA Tour win. With the win, he’ll move to No. 5 in the OWGR. Webb making moves!
On the back nine, Webb made birdie putts of 10 feet, 22 feet, 2 feet (two-putt birdie on a par-5), 14 feet and 17 feet. Guy was ROLLING the rock.
DID YOU KNOW that Webb Simpson was a Religion major at Wake Forest. What in the literal hell. Be weirder Webb, you can’t. Seriously, look at his bio on the PGA Tour website.
He beat out Abraham Ancer who shot six-under and hit all 18 GIR during the round. Tough break for the up-and-comer. Ancer only missed 7 greens all week. SEVEN! That is an absolute ball striking clinic.
Another week in the books. We’ll have a bunch more on today and the tournament in general tomorrow in our Monday Morning Superlatives piece.
Also, every time I think of Webb Simpson this is what comes to my mind.
“Enjoy the jail cell, pal.”
