Players Go Low on Moving Day at the Travelers Championship

RISE AND SHINE! No complaints from me with some Saturday morning golf and players took advantage of the calm conditions before some severe weather in the area this afternoon.

Brendon Todd carded a nine-under 61 to hold the 54-hole lead at the Travelers Championship. Todd, arguably the best golfer right now that no one knows about, is searching for his third win in the last six months! He is one of just three guys to have multiple wins this season on the PGA Tour (Webb Simpson & Justin Thomas).

He had a decent round out there today…

He hit all 14 fairways. It was hit SIXTH round this year hitting all the fairways. He has hit 41-of-42 fairways for the tournament, which is even more impressive considering his ridiculously bushy eyebrows. Look at those catepillars!

It’s just about hitting fairways. Todd was rolling putts in and looked confident with the flat stick despite missing a 7-footer for 60 on 18.

Todd wasn’t the only guy to go low on Saturday morning.

DJ shot his lowest round EVER on the PGA Tour. He was a quiet assassin and started to look like his old self out there.

All told, three players (DJ, Todd and Kevin Streelman) shot 63 or better to make moves up the leaderboard.

Phil had an eventful day on the links. He shot 71 to move down to T7 and sit six shots back heading into Sunday. It was an adventure for him on the par-5 13th. After getting to the greenside bunker in two, he proceeded to blade his sand shot OB.

Pic 1 is where he was (the first of the three bunkers)

And here is where he ended up…

He somehow ended up making only a bogey on the hole thanks to hitting a 15-footer.

Who do you think is going to take down the title?

Is Brendon Todd going to pick up his third win of the year? Will DJ get hoist a trophy for the first time in 15 months (2019 WGC Mexico) or will somehow make a run like Streelman did today?

Should be an exciting Sunday and I have the feeling that they’ll probably move up tee times once again.
